      Great company doing great things with a really good culture

      Pros

      One of the unique things about PQShield is the genuinely great culture. Many companies struggle with this and have to resort to gimmicks to hide the underlying issues, but at PQShield, the family culture comes directly from the CEO's values and care for his team. We all work hard and put a lot in, but we are solving a really important and exciting problem, and know we are having an impact. It is great to be surrounded by such smart and devoted people who love what they do. Performance is all about outcomes and not number of hours, and things are really flexible. There is also a really generous holiday policy with shutdown weeks as well as normally holiday allowance.

      Cons

      Hard to think of any specifically. It's rare to have an employer that can offer all three of exciting work, good career prospects and fair compensation. PQShield is delivering that for me at the moment.

Strong and Open Culture: PQShield's culture is truly one of its greatest strengths. Leadership is transparent and supports our professional growth. Excellent Benefits: The company shows it values its employees with great benefits, including competitive salaries, share options, and a generous holiday policy that includes two company-wide "wellness weeks" in the summer and winter. The annual offsite is a fantastic way to connect with colleagues from around the world.

      Cons

      As a high-growth, pioneering company, the pace can be fast. However, the team and management are very supportive, and the work is so engaging that it rarely feels like too much of a burden.

      - Cutting-Edge Work * You’re working on the forefront of cybersecurity, innovating and helping customer to build their products, systems for the post quantum era arrives earlier * The exciting R&D, Engineering, Product & Operations team environment will make us proud to be part of revolutionary global post quantum computer security. - High-Caliper Colleagues * Teams often consist of cryptographers, PhDs, and security researchers from top universities. * Great for professional development and networking. - Strong Mission Alignment * Employees are often focused on a meaningful product design to customer deliverable mission. - Startup with Innovation Culture * It’s a startup company: fast-paced, high-ownership environment. * Opportunities to wear many role hats and contribute broadly. - Opportunities to Publish, Present & Patent * Employees are encouraged to publish academic papers or speak at conferences like NIST PQC, Real World Crypto, etc. - 100% Remote * This is the icing on the cake i.e. employees are 100% remote working from home or prefer to WFH.       - Steep Learning Curve * PQC is specialised; on-boarding can be intense if you lack of interest in cryptographic learning - Benefits are not in-hand * Some rewards are only on papers which sometimes may confuse you. - Possible Resource Constraints * As a startup, at times face resource crunch because of the customers dynamics and business needs.
