Misaligned leadership and unhealthy workplace environment
Pros
Being able to catch Suns and Mercury games using employee comp tickets was definitely a nice perk.
Cons
I would not recommend working here based on my experience. Compensation was not competitive for the workload and expectations, employee benefits were reduced over time, and I often felt that employees’ contributions were undervalued. Commissions payments (the budget was never ready) were delayed for months, leaving employees without earnings they had rightfully expected during a significant portion of the year. Leadership consistently set expectations that were not met, creating a disconnect between what was promised during recruitment and what employees actually experienced. Not only were employee benefits gradually reduced during my tenure (such as flexible work hours and summer half-day Fridays) but member benefits were also removed or changed just before each team’s season began. After spending an entire sales cycle promoting those benefits as part of the membership value, we were put in the difficult position of explaining to customers why the product they purchased no longer included what had been presented during the sales. The lack of transparency, accountability, and effective leadership ultimately made it difficult to trust management.
