I recently applied for a Business Analyst (BA) position at this company, and while the initial experience was promising, the assessment process was disappointing. The job description clearly outlined basic SQL knowledge and standard BA roles and responsibilities, which aligned with my expertise and expectations.
The recruiter was professional, and the interview process started well. However, the assessment provided was unrealistically challenging for a BA role. It was designed more for a developer, with complex technical questions that went far beyond the SQL basics mentioned in the job description. This discrepancy between the job requirements and the assessment made it feel like the company either doesn't understand the role of a BA or has misaligned expectations.
I believe assessments should test skills relevant to the role being applied for, and unfortunately, this wasn’t the case here. It’s something the company should reconsider to provide a fair and accurate evaluation of candidates.
