Toxic place to work.

Pros

Good benefits, reasonable pay, stable work as long as you are valuable to the company, lunch is catered daily.

Cons

Outpost games used to be wonderful to work for, but everything has changed. New leadership is toxic, fires people without care, and doesn't listen to the public or its employees. The team has lost about 20 employees since January and it is likely more will go. Hero has no substance to it and will not take off as their is no need for it in the gaming world. It's been around for a year now and has no user base. SOS, which was unique and "as fun to watch as it is to play", is now a knock off Battle Royal game with no innovation. The players we had have now turned against us for doing a bait-and-switch and being greedy. Employee moral is low as we all joined a team to try new things and innovate. Now everyone fears they will be the next to be fired. Management hires their friends without having the teams input. They use bullying tactics and fear to keep everyone in check while using the preface of being "open and honest". If you are ok with a job that you can coast through or is just a paycheck, this is not a bad place to be as the benefits and pay are good. Do not come here if you are looking for a fulling job.

Pros

Good benefits - Health, dental, vision are top of the line and vacation policy is unlimited - Food perks Flexible hours - You're treated like an adult, you can come and go as you please Work / life balance - Mostly no overtime. Depending on the team and position, there may be some, but far better than other companies in the same industry.

Cons

I won't dwell on anything, as other reviews have already gone over some of these points, but the high level: Product - No product market fit after 4 to 5 years of development on two products Users / Community - A company that does not care about its users and in turn, a community that actively despises the company Team - A once world class team is gone. A company at its height of 40 or so is now in the teens. Culture - Morale is incredibly low Leadership - Lack of clear direction - Clear pattern of disrespect towards employees - No understanding of how to handle people management properly, it is an afterthought - So concerned about success they miss the forest for the trees, leading to money hungry strategic decisions that alienate both employees and users
