Pros

1)WFH policy 2)Nice laptop and office 3)A lots of cursing at work. Not sure if managers think it's a way to get closer with the low-level employee. 4)People are friendly, only if you meet the right people and have no conflict of interest

Cons

1)Some of the managers are not experts or understand the business well, they are not qualified enough to manage people. 2)The company needs to provide proper training to new employees instead of thinking that they should know the work because they are experienced workers. I feel like just a small part of the machine, not a human being. 3)Be yes-man, if you're not completely aligned to the management's line of thought and way of doing things, you will be blacklisted, and even get fired. 4)Favoritism. If you always be supportive to managers, you can get increments and promotions. If you’re quiet, stay stagnant in your position forever. CEO and managers only like loud employees. 5)Keep changing. Including policy, KPI etc. Sounds like they want to achieve the goals immediately. If we cannot do it, it's our problem. Come on, we are not magic genies tbh. 6)Sales sales sales. They get all the attention. The rest of the departments are invisible. 7)HR asked for feedback and try to engage with staff, however, staff has been countered back for the feedback points. So basically you can only say the company is the best with no issues.

Pros

Helpful Teammates: The camaraderie among colleagues is commendable. Team members are supportive and willing to help each other, creating a collaborative environment. Flexible Working: The company offers flexibility in working hours, which can greatly enhance work-life balance and accommodate personal needs. Good Culture: There is a generally positive culture that promotes teamwork and inclusivity, making it a pleasant place to work.

Cons

Ready to hear the rant? The just some random rant, its what we faced right now! Lack of Empathy: Recent changes in performance review policies—from biannual to annual—felt abrupt and unfair, especially as they were implemented just after the supposedly second review of the year. This shift has left many employees feeling betrayed, particularly following the announcement of the company's first profitability after two layoffs within a year. The management's call for empathy towards clients contrasts sharply with their treatment of employees. Low Salary: Despite an increase in workload and changing KPIs that seem increasingly unrealistic, salaries have not kept pace with market trends. This discrepancy has led to dissatisfaction among staff who feel undervalued. Poor Internal Communication: There is a significant lack of accountability within departments. When issues arise, blame is often shifted between departments rather than resolved collaboratively. This behavior creates frustration and inefficiency, especially when one region's errors impact client-facing teams. Transparency Issues: Although Osome promotes transparency as a core value, my experience suggests otherwise. I received a warning from HR for inquiring about something, indicating a culture that discourages open dialogue. Additionally, employee feedback from surveys seems to be shared with upper management, leading to concerns about confidentiality and potential repercussions. Overpromising Services: Teams often set unrealistic expectations for clients regarding the ease of service delivery. While the goal is to provide hassle-free experiences, this approach can backfire when clients encounter challenges that were downplayed during the sales process.
