Pros

Primarily Remote I got a free Yeti cup

Cons

There are a bunch of cons about OneStream. * Pay once per month. * When you do get paid there is a 95% your pay will be wrong and you will wait a month or longer to get it corrected. * The nepotism there is unlike anything I have ever seen. It literally pays to be related to the right person at OneStream. * The hoops that have to be jumped through for a person to be terminated for poor performance or even cheating are insane. * Depending on your department you will spend a lot of time in meetings and doing busy work that leads to nothing actually getting accomplished. * The leadership is some of the weakest leadership I have ever seen in action. * Once you leave, if you need anything or have a question, the tone you get from HR/Benefits really changes and not for the better. * Pay in a lot of positions is way below the market average. They need to get with the times and pay for talent because there are a lot of companies willing to pay for that talent. * Not a lot of diversity in upper management. Check out the Leadership page on the website. A lot of white males will be staring back at you.

Pros

Great salary for South Florida employee

Cons

They have teams where backstabbing, biased comments, false statements and lying are part of daily life. Managers in the Platform team are the worst. If you complain about the team, they don’t give credit to your opinion because they favor the team, and not you. They’ve shown poor judgement, lack of knowledge about technical and non-technical aspects, poor management, micro-management, interfering in the Agile process and so on. The have contributed to low performance, low cadence on deliverables, wrong estimation, low employee retention rate. When they cannot manipulate their staff, they will terminate your contract saying you’re not a Culture fit for the company. Finally, you have Project Managers. People incapable of plan accordingly deliverables. Define stories correctly. Incapable of writing business documentation or stories meeting the definition of ready. Technical expertise is low or none. They do not understand nor able to manage the Scrum process. Often lead to meaningless and repeated meetings with a direct impact in the deliverables.

Good tech company, horribly inefficient HR department.

Pros

The leadership in the technical departments seem like great people who are passionate about what they do. Remote work, flexibility, comp, seems like a great place to work if you worked there before it became a remote-first company. If you were hired after you are not a part of the "in" crowd and will be treated like a second-class employee. I'm sure there are good teams, but I was there almost a year and my actual manager was on leave, out sick, or taking time off for more than 50% of the working days I was with the company. My training was almost entirely glossed over.

Cons

The leadership of the HR / People Operations department are hilariously inefficient and management of this department is SO bloated yet they lay off individual contributors and promote managers who have no direct reports. When I was at OneStream my department had 3 managers - 2 of these managers had small teams under them, 1 of these managers had no direct reports. The manager without a team was promoted to a director within a week or two of multiple individual contributors being laid off. To add to this comedy they hired an additional manager who manages the 3 managers and reports up to the head of the department. This all led to horrible inefficiencies for the day-to-day contributors. Seems like a phenominal place to be a middle manager.
