Pros

Great product and service offering, however company direction taking more corporate route which leaves staff struggling to cope with long working hours, demanding tasks outside job scope and minimum wages.

Cons

Hours of work are unmanageable due to high staff turnover, existing staff are constantly stretched to the limit. Lots of paperwork. Lots of demands outside of working hours. Unachieable targets set with no reward or recognition.

Too many toxic sacred cows

Pros

I worked with some really good and genuinely nice people during my time there but this was overshadowed by the toxicity of the culture top down.

Cons

Where to start? What ever Nuffield Health says it is on the label, certainly isn’t what’s inside the tin. It purports to have the health and well-being of the nation as its core objectives and yet I saw no real commitment to employee well-being during my time with this company. So far. To be honest, quite the reverse. Nuffield Health is led by a toxic leadership culture that believes it is untouchable, beyond reproach and faultless, I.e. the sacred cow. Instead of learning and developing from mistakes, SLT surround themselves with close allies, I.e. friends and family members and get rid of anyone who may dare to suggest they’ve made error of judgements or even challenge their perceptions. This is born out by the continual sways of organisational culling that has occurred over the last several years. And for those who haven’t been culled, good and talented people eventually get out rather than continue to be subjected to the bullying ways of senior leadership who are more than prepared to throw people under a bus than admit to their own failings.

Cons

I read the reviews before starting here and it didn’t look pretty by any means but I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and make up my own mind. Straight from there pretentious and tedious application process you start to see exactly where people are coming from. The management simply think that you are there to do all the things that they are too good to do and that you are stupid enough to do it for half the pay. You will be working 12.5 hrs a day on the weekends with no breaks and yet these guys call themselves a charity but it’s all a smoke screen to cover up how stingy, disrectful and selfish they are. There processes are joke “clearly under paid and over worked themselves” to the point where they can’t even be bothered to send you your P45 as it doesn’t really benefit them. You will be a lifeguard, a receptionist, a barrister, a cleaner and cover all their breaks whilst taking responsibility for the whole club while the actual managers are tucked up in bed and your making near minimum wage. It’s terrible it really is and anyone reading this I would seriously reconsider as you would do well in this day and age to find worse and if you start to see the systemic pattern ask yourself is this really worth it?
