Going down the tubes

Pros

Nothing that I can think of

Cons

No loyalty to anyone. Senior management is unaccountable to anyone. Laid off with terrible severance package while the founders friends all stayed on. Promised benefits required jumping through hoops to get. Company will probably run out of cash soon since there is no revenue in sight. The technology is late to market and competitors will eventually catch up.

Pros

Mission of the company is worthwhile. Legacy employees great to work with. Solid employee benefits and some free lunches. Bay area and DC offices are nice new locations with remote work possible.

Cons

Most of the people that built the company are now gone, mostly due to attrition and lost hope waiting for company to grow...tor they were just laid off. New CEO hired to take one last shot at profitability with worthwhile new direction in hopes of finally turning a profit. Unfortunately the new leadership has brought with it a miserable, toxic and political culture. Executive team now scared to act boldly and the new organizational restructuring was poorly thought out. New leadership also has little interest in learning anything from legacy employees. Old company culture was largely free of politics, but that has all changed now.

Pros

Building Resilient PNT, GPS backup and 3D geolocation technology mission is impactful. Benefits such as flexible work, decent pay and skilled engineering core remain positive, especially from legacy teams.

Cons

Since new CEO, there's been a clear cultural shift: a once collaborative environment has become miserable, toxic and political. Senior management has shut down questions and dialog, replacing it with internal politicking. Legacy staff are sidelined and institutional knowledge is dismissed. Strong cultural decline under new leadership. Widespread burnout and and low morale.
