Pros

The coworkers and overall culture of the office is great. Everyone I worked with is smart, friendly, and motivated. The dress code is rather casual and hours are somewhat flexible for those who do their jobs well. While Navigate Power and Verde Solutions operate independently, they are combined for anything that isn't strictly business-related. Of course, the work that the companies do makes a positive impact on society by reducing energy costs and usage by finding the most cost-effective energy suppliers and then financing energy efficiency and distributed generation projects.

Cons

Benefits are pretty basic, though they're looking at finally adding a 401k plan, supposedly. Some positions aren't compensated fairly. Both Verde Solutions and Navigate Power had been growing quite fast, but it has slowed down somewhat due to various reasons both within and outside of their control. On the Verde side, there is some lack of cohesion between the energy efficiency and renewables groups, which causes some problems for projects that involve both sides. Some systems and processes have substantial room for improvement, as well. Exacerbating these challenges is that the sales people are primarily external contractors paid by commission, and many of them have little to no prior background in energy. This makes the work somewhat chaotic and unpredictable, though that is to be expected to some extent at a small but growing business. The office location is somewhat inconvenient for transit users and the building isn't great, but I understand why they are located there.

Pros

Growing company that is really employee focused. The culture at Navigate Power is one that facilitates employee development/ professional growth and is vary flat as an organization. Directors and executive leadership are vary easy to communicate with. Sales team is great to work along side of. Growth potential is what you make. -I feel valued everyday I come in -My accomplishments are recognized -I'm comfortable taking on things and asking for more responsibility -I know my seat today is not where I'll be in 2,3,4 or 5 years with this company

Cons

You have to be a competitor and want to be apart of growing something GREAT to excel. If you do not want to work hard, develop professionally or "cut your teeth" this is not the company for you.
