Upon accepting this job, I was so excited. The agency made themselves look awesome on their website and socials, the work seemed exciting and they are newer which I thought would be fun to be a part of. However, after a few months, I quickly realized this place was not worth it. To begin, salaries are low. I get it, they are a newer agency and need time to grow their profit, however, they do pay significantly lower than other shops. In addition, the benefits are awful- which again, is understandable but just something to keep in mind.
However, the part that was the most disappointing was the culture. From the first day, the entire place is just cold. There was no warm welcome, no one really came over and introduced themselves and no one seemed to be enjoying themselves. The most shocking part was the CEO, Justin. I was sitting at my desk, a new employee, and he came up and talked to the guy sitting right next to me and didn't even introduce himself or say hello. There are roughly 20 people that work here. The CEO should know everyone. From there, I quickly learned that the agency is just very clicky. If you aren't one of the few that started with the company, you have to work hard to be part of 'the team'. Some days felt like I was in high school.
Lastly, only join this agency if you want to be babysat. You are expected to be at literally everything, even if it is marked as optional. There is no trust that you will just get your work done as an adult should. They reward people for filling out their time cards by providing snacks. Overall, I really did just feel like I was back in school.
