Pros

Conference talks and blogs posts are valued and encouraged. They have a dedicated budget for this.

Cons

Work/life balance is nonexistent. There is only work. New ideas are met with immediate dismissal. Only Senior Leadership can come up with "new ideas" as they take credit for what you suggested. Any attempt to improve the services or request investments in people or supporting tools is silenced. Mistakes or disagreements are met with reprisal in a vindictive and malevolent manner. Profit is king over quality. Training budget is outdated and misrepresented. Salaries are low and stagnant. After hours activites are mandatory as part of your annual goals. Innovation is dead. Copy and paste templates is every customer's deliverable. They have unrealistic expectations of their employess and grandiose ideas of themselves. They generate lack-luster content for SANS. They are just a cog in the SANS money machine. Every criticism delivered in feedback, which they ask for weekly, is taken personally by the founding members. The ability to learn internally and cross-functionally is only available when it is in the companies interest, not the employees despite what they claim during recruitment.

Dear ex-colleague, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and candid thoughts about your experience with our company. Your input is valuable to us, and we are committed to using it to enhance our working environment and overall performance. It is disheartening to learn that your time with us did not meet your expectations. We genuinely aim to provide a positive and fulfilling experience for all our employees. Your comments, while appreciated, offer a surface-level understanding, and we recognize there may be more nuanced aspects that might have missed. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to delve deeper into your experiences to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the specific challenges you encountered during your tenure at NVISO. We are open to arranging a conversation at your convenience to discuss your insights further. Your perspective is crucial for us to identify areas for improvement and implement positive changes. Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and we hope to have the opportunity to connect with you soon. Pros

Absolutely nothing. Lost 6 months at this place.

Cons

The most toxic workplace I have ever worked. The management in GR is bullying employees. They expect you to attend events (dinner, drinks) outside your working hours and if you don’t they give you bad formal feedback, that you are not engaged and even if these events are not part of your working hours, you are expected to attend. They send you emails during the weekend and they expect an answer asap. The onboarding process is not existing and they expect you to perform at 100% from your first week, without any training. Not at all flexible or reasonable.

Dear ex-colleague, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take all comments seriously as they are crucial for our continuous improvement and we are truly sorry to hear about your experiences, particularly regarding the issues of bullying and management practices. At NVISO, we are committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace, and it concerns us deeply that you felt this was not the case during your tenure. The issue of bullying is something we’ve always taken very seriously, and we’ve implemented multiple confidential channels for reporting any misconduct is encouraged: this is widely and regularly communicated. Likewise, we have established policies and procedures to ensure a professional onboarding as well as healthy work-life balance: this includes a clear statement, to the attention of every level in the company, stating that responses to emails during weekends and participation in after-hours events are certainly not required. Of course, for our colleagues that are on call (and financially compensated for this), response to emails outside office hours is part of the job: this is however disclosed at the moment of hiring, and part of the employment contract. Apologies are extended for any experiences that did not reflect the company's values, and your input is appreciated. Best wishes for your future endeavors. Kind regards, Anna-Sophie Schmitz HR

Pros

Interesting missions in penetration testing. Very good spirit and values. People are open minded which allows for open feedback.

Cons

Very strict evolution path: performances and ambition will not be rewarded. Limited set of recurrent customers, resulting in same type of applications to be tested. Your network evolves fast during your first years. Once you met all recurrent customers, you will met less new people outside the company. Salary is not really competitive compared to competitors, given the very high amount of work and expectations required by the job.
