Pros

The company provides good benefits and health insurance, good 401 K contribution, and normal work/life balance. The base salaries is fair.

Cons

The company is badly managed and suffers from a very low work ethics attitude. The management is indifferent to professionalism and employ a clothed discrimination in regards of religious beliefs.

Pros

Excellent Health benefits, Vision and Dental are OK. 401K used to be AWESOME! Just cut benefit. Now it is simply adequate. Start off with four weeks vacation.

Cons

HORRIBLE management. Lead by fear. Dead end job. Openly state that there is no cross training. NO CHANCE for advancement. They tell people: "if you don't like it then leave." Automating everything. You get four weeks of vacation but they can not approve it more ethan 2 or 3 days before your vacation. This makes it impossible to plan trips with family or friends without paying a lot for airline tickets. Management "knows it all". Not remotely interested in hearing your opinion. Contstantly told to "stay in your lane and keep quiet." Bean counter has too much power/control. Does not know TV. Morale is extremely low. Recent control room remodel is an ergonomic nightmare. Only two raises in the past 7 years.

Pros

I can't think of anything as an advantage working for this company except the good health benefits ( used to be ) , above market 401k ( going to be reduced soon). Green Card for those joining from overseas

Cons

I had high expectations of this channel and I was so excited to join , but after a while I realized that I'm working with a bunch of limited knowledge people, the manager wants to please Conniff so he only get the expired contents or contents that not that appealing to our audience with less money, showing upper management that he is careful with spending His right hand man is a tail wagging dog . They pressure us to work our hardest then we get paid peanuts while they put big bonuses in their pockets. When we suggested to expand our digital print to get more views, the manger's answer was " we don't care about numbers of views ". If an opportunity arise to attend a conference , we would only be sent cause no one is available and we get sent to the half day last day event where there are no solid activities left to attend. The manager runs the dept like he is the teacher and we are a first graders. I'can't wait to quit this job and leave this company. they don';t care about training or career development. we get accounted for the time we spend drinking our tea while other department work 2 hours out of 8 hours shift and no one hold them accountable because they either bribe, or know how to manipulate their supervisors. I got hired with a really double dirty trick. They gave me a title with a lower salary and made me do my coworker ' same job ( in addition to my formal title) which he takes higher salary for. The Double trick is not giving me the same title as my coworker so he wouldn't come and ask for a higher salary based on his seniority.

Pros

Study income, Health Benefits, and a good place to start.

Cons

The work environment in MBN is poisonous, if you are the kind of employee that likes to gossip more than doing actual work then it is the place for you, however, you will be a target to the next administration anyway unless you start to gossip for them too. middle manager are hardly skilled in any of their technical spieciallties.

Pros

The technicians that work here are great people. Lots of seasoned professionals, so much can be learned from these people. The 401k, vacation and health benefits are the only reasons why everyone hasn't just quit. Considering how other companies compare regarding benefits, this one offers one of the best packages.

Cons

It's a dead end job! They removed the opportunity to train for other technical positions, so why take the job in the first place? They purposely do not want to promote from within becuase promotion means raise and raise means more money they will have to be spent. They do not pay the going rate in this Metro area, but they tout their benefits up and down the street. They once told people that there's plenty of Overtime to be had to make up for lower wages. Now that too is gone! Though they are good benefits, they however, keep chipping away at them every year and one day they won't be any better than anyone else. Employee retension is completely foreign to management, they consider everyone to be disposable, even though it takes months to find new hires; and then they have to pass a lenghtly security check, which has scared very talented people away. No company can ever be perfect, but they don't want or care to fix their own problems. As long as the BBG and Congress don't find out the real truth about how this place opperates and the misspending of money, MBN will last a good long time. But nothing last forever and it would be a real shame to muddy up the message this place is trying to convey to the middle east becuase of poor spending and bad management.
