Unprofessional cliquish, high school like environment

Pros

Great benefits, flexibility for those who are favorites

Cons

Unprofessional CEO, walks around half dressed and cursing out people but then tries to "mother" her favorites who are unqualified and untrained 20 something "managers" with no experience. Questionable ethics. Lots of back door conversations. Whoever is on the hot seat changes overnight and no ones job is safe if one of the immature (20 something managers) favorites decides they don't like you or are threatened by you.

Pros

Short commute...light work load. That's it.

Cons

Do not believe the con job during the interview salesmanship. The culture in this place is toxic, and is harmful at any stage of your career. It is filled with insecure managers who waste time doing things below their pay grade, and don't give a damn for the people doing the hard work for them. The culture of top down micro-management is pervasive, and most of the management are industry rejects who worked at no name companies or CMOs. They have no idea of how to do development of vaccines. They throw the kitchen sink at every problem, and waste precious taxpayer dollars on projects, delivering solutions in six months that could easily be accomplished in half the time. They have no idea how to do development for Ph. I, and no one can enforce accountability on them, because their so-called leadership on NIH main campus are basic researchers who have no clue of industrial clinical development deliverables and timelines. What a classic waste of taxpater $$$...and they're all government contractors riding the gravy train. The salary and benefits are terrible, and some of the managers and other so-called leadership are actually abusive in person and on official government email.

Great company but future is uncertain

Pros

So far, it has been great. Flexible schedule/teleworking is encouraged, relaxed and informal working environment, family friendly summer BBQ and holiday party, coworkers are very friendly, and company seems to have good relationship with clients.

Cons

MSC was acquired in 2016 by another contracting company that does not have a great reputation, so it remains to be seen how this will affect MSC. I did not find out about this until several months later from a coworker; there was no announcement to employees. Also, they do not give you much notice about whether or not contracts with clients will be renewed, which can be stressful.
