Please be assured that Diversity & Inclusion has always been a key focus for Medialab and we have a number of initiatives and processes in place to ensure that every person has the same opportunity to join and thrive at Medialab, irrespective of background. We aim to create an open culture where people feel they can bring their whole self to work through our fortnightly ‘Together We Stand’ open discussion groups, as well as supporting our employees to gain mentorships through partnerships with MEFA (Media For All) who support Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority colleagues in our industry, Bloom (professional women’s network for the comms industry) and Outvertising (LGBTQ+ advocacy group for the advertising & marketing industry). Medialab is not as diverse an organisation as we hope it one day will be, and this is something we continue to prioritise as an area of improvement. Hence, Medialab is supporting the 6 key actions that came out of the Advertising Association’s ‘All In’ summit at the end of 2021 and we continue to follow their guidance on how to implement these changes, as well as creating our own game changers through creating new entry level recruitment schemes, open to anyone, no matter what their level of qualification or background is. We appreciate we have some way to go still, alongside the rest of the industry, but we are committed to the journey and will see a more diverse workforce as time goes on.
