Pros

Compensation is good and probably the only reason most people tolerate working there.

Cons

Most of the existing management and some of the new HI management are way too old and stuck in their ways. They don't understand how to behave and they are never held accountable. Sexual harassment goes unchecked, racism is prevalent, and nepotism is in full swing. On the technical side, the moronic executive management team allows construction to drive engineering causing major losses to profit and poor performance. Most of the people that voted the company a great place to work are the construction folks. Most of the talented engineers are just waiting for the management to leave. The crop of chiefs selected within engineering were hand picked by the worst manager in the company and it shows.

Pros

I have been working for Matrix PDM office in Pittsburgh for over 4 years. It's slow pace and you have lots of time to follow your hobbies and learn different things. It's easy to get promotions.

Cons

Lots of managers have family issues and discuss their problems at work. There is no equal pay scale for women and men. They keep hiring people with a work visa with the promise to apply for a green card but never happens.

Pros

Above anything, the people are great to work with. There has been a good amount of turnover lately due to retirements and some unhappy employees leaving, but this has allowed a new set of younger leaders to have a larger voice in the direction of the company. There is a lot of opportunity for growth within the company and compensation tends to be higher than competitors. Type of work is split between traditional storage tanks and terminals, oil & gas facilities, petrochemical, and emerging markets such as hydrogen facilities and thermal vacuum chambers to support the space industry.

Cons

Lost some staff due to furloughs during the pandemic. However the company is coming out of the down period with strong prospects and has a lot of opportunity for growth.
