Pros

There are no pros to working here

Cons

Cliquey people, only the cool kids survive. Favoritism is huge. Top performers under appreciated. Constantly seeing people with less experience and skill being promoted because they are someone's friend. CEO is terrible is the main source of toxicity ( favoritism again ) Turn-over is HUGE, no company structure and bad training regimen. Constantly lie to your face on how they are the best in the market when they actually have a bad product that is not enterprise ready, no clear direction on where the company is going.

Pros

The people at Malwarebytes are great. I don't know one middle manager or individual contributor who isn't passionate about their job and the vision of the company - a Malware Free Existence. Malwarebytes does promote a healthy work life balance, in spite of it often being difficult to follow. The benefits are quite good outside of paternity/maternity needs. In this area they are lackluster.

Cons

- Executive turnover every year for the last 3 or 4 years - A lack of a clear corporate strategy shared across the business - Lack of a unified marketing team, constantly splitting b2b and b2c marketing to the point they compete with one another for marketing funds and engineering resources - Toxic upper-middle management - very political, manipulative, secretive. - I've had rumors spread about me by other managers in order to paint a narrative about me and my team - Zero long-term strategy for anything; no real product or marketing strategy beyond a year, and it changes every month - False sense of care/hope when the CEO tells his employees he is all ears, cares about the concerns of employees, but does not listen when they speak up about legitimate concerns. People are afraid of being fired. - Does not celebrate MLK day or black history month with any day off of any kind, hasn't for years, does not consider it a company-acknowledge holiday for some reason. - Lack of care in facilities, refrigerators are constantly left with old rotting food, lunches are stolen often, catered lunches have gone from weekly provided lunches to random special events, and most food in fridge is often poor quality/rotting, unhealthy, and there is not a diverse enough menu for vegans, vegetarians, people with celiac disease or other food allergies. In fact, the company started charging its employees for a varied diet. - Free food includes sugary cereals, candy bars, frozen pizzas, ice cream, and some sandwich ingredients. There are SO few healthy options as they have been simply budget-cut, and it continued to grow more and more limited without explanation, with very few affordable healthy options within walking distance. - Values numbers over people - Most engineers are men, and the leadership team is predominantly white men. - Continuously pays people under market value; hiring managers have zero say in anything around the hiring process or the offer
