Pros

The only reason to work for this company is if you are unemployed and desperate. Even then, use the job as temporary until you find something else

Cons

Most staff are demoralized. Turnover rate is enormous & constant. Minimal health plan as only benefit: no pension plan, no short term disability, 1 sick day per year, vacation capped at 3 weeks no matter length of service. Employer does not trust his staff, sees longevity as a liability. Company is constantly looking for ways to lower wages & reduce staff

Pros

Met some great people and lifelong friends.

Cons

Very little mobility within each brand Constant change of brand direction Little recognition for hard workers Huge salary discrepancies within the same role Very few increases, no bonuses at all Terrible Benefits - no vision coverage, which is unheard of 10 Days Vacation - 5 days of which are mandatory at Christmas Few social events Christmas holiday party is focused on employee's children - should have 2 separate parties so employees can have a proper holiday party enjoying each others company

Pros

Good front-line office staff who actually care about their work

Cons

I worked here full-time for over 2.5 years at the Ontario Head Office in Richmond Hill. In my time with the company, I witnessed and experienced bullying, favouritism and nepotism. Key positions within the company are filled with friends and family of the President, regardless of qualification or merit... HR, based solely out of the Montreal office, rarely makes an appearance in Ontario and management ignores, or sweeps under the rug, obvious cases of bullying and harassment. Senior management routinely demeans and verbally abuses their staff without consequence, forcing staff to quit or firing them without cause if they speak up. They have no idea what the front-line staff actually does, and yet, feel qualified to judge them when they themselves are completely useless and have no idea what they are doing. Benefits are severely lacking and annual salary is below industry standard. There is no internal company growth, instead, the company only survives by acquiring other struggling food brands and absorbing their assets. While they do have some very recognizable brands, all of them are struggling, franchisee satisfaction is non-existent and employee morale is beyond low. In my opinion, a 2nd rate organization that desperately needs a change in management and a move away from operating in such a Micky Mouse fashion.
