A miserable place to work

Pros

-You will learn a lot from your clients

Cons

-Unethical management staff- in terms of both client treatment and employee relations -Extremely low compensation rate; "bonus" structure leaves basically no room for actual bonuses as even the lowest levels are extremely hard to hit unless you're scheduling clients to overlap, not taking lunch breaks, etc. -Management plays favorites and once you're deemed as not a favorite, you're constantly on the receiving end of passive aggressive actions and gossip - Pay is unreliable. They will either pay late, "accidentally" miscalculate what your pay should be, or try to withhold pay after you quit and take literal months to finally pay you - Minimal paid time off. You also cannot take any time off before or after a paid holiday or you don't get paid for the holiday. - No room for growth. Management solicits ideas from employees but if you actually share anything they turn you down and put you in the role of defective, ungrateful employee for suggesting changes - The owner and management expects you to put the success of the company above your own, and are offended if an employee discusses raises even after working extremely hard and proving their worth over time - Poor leadership and teaching skills amongst management. For a company that seems to survive mostly off the labor of unpaid interns and underpaid recent graduates, they shun employees who reach out for help or clarification - Very high turnover rate of therapists and admin staff. As you can see there are many cons to working here, which most people realize early on. This makes it hard to actually feel like a part of a community at work.

MPB Group Response

As a Behavioral Health Institution, MPB Group will continue to stand on its legacy of Excellence, High Standards, Integrity, Equity and Commitment to providing quality services to children, adolescents and adults. We will continue to evaluate ourselves and take opportunities to grow and develop with the sole purpose of being able to maintain a professional and quality service line; while simultaneously maintaining a productive and positive work environment. We will maintain our commitment to operating in a manner that is in the best interest of “all” employees and not just on behalf of the “individual” interest of one employee. Our hiring practices clearly reflect our effort to maintain a workforce that represents professionalism, integrity, maturity and commitment to clients. The Good News? We have a team of dedicated professionals including clinicians, interns, administrative staff and seniors leaders. We are not at liberty to discuss issues that fall under the scope of Human Resources - such as compensation, staffing, employee disciplinary actions/practices, etc. However, MPB Group will continue to make decisions that support our larger vision of maintaining a workforce that represents our commitment to client-case, professionalism, and integrity. MPB Group is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We don't just accept differences of employees - we celebrate and support differences for the benefit of our clientele and workplace culture.
