Pros

This list is long... 1. It's a smaller company. If you're part of the team, you matter. Period. 2. Emphasis on team connection. 3. Opportunities for growth. I never stop learning here. It's baked into the culture. 4. Trust. I'm not micromanaged. 5. Flexibility. Life happens, and as long as the job gets done there's space for it. 6. Results-oriented culture. We have goals, and we're driven to accomplish them. 7. Respect for values and priorities. We're all driven by different things and that's okay. 8. Work/life balance is respected. 9. Culture here isn't a means to an end, but an end in itself. We all contribute. 10. Retention. It's ludicrously high here.

Cons

No company is perfect, but any gripes I have a small and infrequent.

Pros

The management take a very active role in mentorship and seeing to the personal and professional development of their staff. I have worn many hats at many companies, and Zymewire has been the most supportive by far. Zymewire offers challenging, creative, and rewarding work, while keeping stress levels to a minimum. If parts of my job are dull or repetitive I am asked how to improve them, and these suggestions are always taken seriously. The location is great if you commute. It's on the West Toronto Rail Path, which, aside from being a nice place to walk, gives you easy access to Dundas-West Station (subway) and Bloor Station (UP and Go trains). The office is located in an up-and-coming neighbourhood so housing is still semi-affordable while offering a trendy vibe. There is a sense of community and comradery at Zymewire. You get to be an integral part of a team instead of being a tiny, forgotten cog in a huge machine.

Cons

To office could be a plus or minus depending on where you enjoy working. It's a shared, open work space. If you like having neighbours and don't mind working next to your boss, you'll thrive here. You also can't expect to get anything out of Zymewire without putting in an effort. This is not a clock-in/clock-out, forget-about-it-and-collect-a-pay-cheque kind of workplace. You've got to actively participate, or you're not going to be happy here.

Pros

This company has probably the best culture I've seen in any workplace, and it shouldn't be surprising because a great effort is made to keep it that way. Great leaders and management too (I'd rate the CEO with 5 thumbs up if I could)

Cons

Although Lumerate has been around for quite a bit now, it still has some startup-like things. It's not a con for me, but it might be for others. Compensation is on par with other similar companies, so not outstanding but good.
