Pros

Everyone is so welcoming, supportive and open to ideas. Leadership is open to ideas and supports growth.

Cons

There's a lot of projects moving and never enough time in a day to do something. You take it in stride. People are always working harder.

a West End Staple

Pros

Really positive work environment, a handful of really talented and passionate individuals on staff that you will get to interact with, lots of flexibility depending on your program, addressing a real need, LW is a known brand in Portland. Even though the title I says West End Staple, we are considering moving the office to another place. Also the ED is not Strimling, but currently Heather Davis, although she is transitioning out and we are searching for an interim director.

Cons

The pay is low comparatively during a time of national teacher/educator shortages wages offered have not reflected this national trend, overwhelmingly white workplace.
