Please stay far away from Teaching English at the LLC in Malè, Maldives. The school put me in the worst accommodation possible. I had no working sink or washing machine, the lights constantly flickered and the apartment building attracted rats. I could hear rats whilst falling asleep on a night and genuinely did not feel safe in the building itself as it was completely rundown and unmaintained. Upon addressing these issues I was assured these would be fixed however nothing was done and I was unaware at the time that my housemate had already complained about these issues months earlier. Evidentially they put me in this apartment knowing the dire conditions. I was charged 3x the amount for utilities even though I could see how much I owed via an app, when my housemate asked one of the owners of the school why he charged me so much he simply shrugged. I feel this school is a scam; the pay is terrible compared to the cost of living, and I was one of the lucky ones who actually got paid. Please avoid this at all costs.

However, these lessons were incredibly dull and we had no chance to alter them. Management put no thought or care into their teaching staff or students, as long as the students paid. Staff were not paid on time and communication was near non existent.
