Working at Landmark has been a great first job in finance. The opportunity to enter private equity straight out of college and bypass investment banking is a somewhat unique and attractive path. You receive a broad education through exposure to all private equity strategies as well as some infrastructure and real estate. You work on a range of projects and have the opportunity to focus on areas of interest. Landmark provides great training and has a strong culture. Relative to comparable firms, Landmark has a great work-life balance. Landmark is recognized as a high-quality firm in the market. Ares’ recent acquisition of Landmark makes the firm’s position that much more attractive.
Cons
Analysts in the Quantitative Research Group used to be based in Simsbury, Connecticut, which was not an ideal location. However, management recently moved the analyst program to New York City.
