Pros

The clients and kiddos I was able to spend time with. That’s it. Only pros are products of luck and from non-kyo sources.

Cons

As Kyo’s highest performing BT for 2+ yrs (“Moment Leader”), my Kyo work experience was a traumatizing devastating one that mentally impacted me to the point where I was hospitalized due to severe depression. At Kyo, BTs are seen expendable, left unsupported, then dropped the moment they go through a little too much struggle in life for HR‘s taste. I was a top performer — held “Moment Leader” status — and still got terminated under circumstances I know were discriminatory. Coldly thrown away when I was pleading for help and support when facing prejudice. Kyo talks a big game about values and inclusion but the reality behind closed doors is a different story. Management protects itself, not staff. HR exists to cover the company, not the BTs actually putting in the work. Supervisors face zero accountability when they are lousy and the good ones are not exemplified sufficiently. You can pour everything into your clients and your team and get pushed out the moment you’re inconvenient. Bottom Line: If you’re a marginalized person considering working here, go in with your eyes open. Preferably, just don’t. Pay sucks. Employees have no value. Remember, high performance won’t protect you. If you face discrimination, document everything from day 1. Because I faced blatant trans discrimination, and when I acted to bring attention to this, I was fired in a matter of months. Thankfully, I was hired at another company for 4 more dollars than what Kyo paid me.and just 15 days after termination. So that’s 1 last thing. Grossly underpaid. I was “moment leader” making $23. I’m glad I got fired and now make $27/hr at a company that might actually value LGBTQ people, and I already know definitely does more than the soulless organization that is Kyo.

Pros

Really understanding BCBAs, flexible hours.

Cons

Scheduling doesn't listen to BCBA or RBT, they mess with scheduling clients leaving RBT/BCBA to deal with it, and don't schedule the hours RBTs are entitled to. This job is hard enough without scheduling messing around with people's income. I have half a mind to ask if scheduling needs help, because I have parents coming to me frustrated with scheduling not approving their requests and scheduling doesn't add clients or listen to you. Also BCBAs are overworked with too many clients meaning they don't have the time to give support to clients and RBTs that they normally would. With the way gas prices are predicted to go up, the compensation they're offering isn't going to be enough and they're going to lose a lot of RBTs between gas prices and scheduling frustrating everyone.
