Pros

The people you work with are nice Good not to work on weekends and public holidays Decent pay for starter and benefits

Cons

Lack of product knowledge and information therefore it makes for one not to work effectively and efficiently There's no second line of escalation if you as an analyst you are failing to resolve the issue More pressure is put on new starters with high expectations on call closures but without considering that there is lack of resources Team Leaders also don't know much therefore they are not helpful at times We rely on old KAs and incidents that not always assist since software is being upgraded alot Insufficient training and support The struggle is beyond when you supposed to do your work Also work from home is limited People leave in numbers

Pros

Team members are mainly great to work with

Cons

Management who have zero product/technical knowledge enforcing unrealistic deadlines. Below average wages, poor base bonus % Low moral Mental exhaustion Management expect you to be dedicated to your job, working outside your normal hours to meet the unrealistic deadlines. ASRs carried out by Management who do not know the employees they are reviewing. Everyone is different, different skillsets, different product knowledge. How can someone who does not know you, say what you are worth? Don't feel valued or respected by Management.

Pros

Team I worked with is lovely and the bonuses is nice

Cons

The managers they hire is incompetent, Will ask you to action queries outside of the sua Management is unable to deal with escalations due to the lack of knowledge and is then pushed down to staff. They micromanage you treat you like a child even if you a top performer which then causes the staff to do the bear minimum Yes the place is toxic!

Pros

Great staff who sadly are being bullied.

Cons

False Culture. Senior Management Team are unpopular and self centred. Directors brought in such as ops and sales who attempt to lord it over the teams and bully, they quickly get found out and moved on. CEO is a rude and a pretentious guy who is not liked.

Pros

I enjoyed working with the people at Kerridge and for the most part colleagues were well meaning, competent and ultimately a good bunch of people.

Cons

KCS is an odd company with a great product but ultimately it is its own worst enemy. You have people in roles who are incompetent, disingenuous and actively seeking to undermine and engage in areas of the business which is not their role nor area of expertise. This leads ultimately to a lack of guidance and direction where accountability very much goes down the chain of command, with successes being those of upper management and failures being those of whom are in inferior roles. An inability to show empathy and understanding is a trait consistent across the entire business, and KCS is very much a business of the haves and have nots. It is a politicised organisation where ethics and morals are optional extras, and anything positive that you do is forgotten. There is no respect for processes and the culture is positive at lower levels, but very much in the gallows humour sense. Colleagues are actively seeking to exit the business and a poor jobs market and lack of options is possibly the reason why retention remains reasonable for the time being. Salaries are poor and well below market average and this is an open conversation talking point. Staff in SA especially openly complain about the fact that many of them cannot afford to pay their bills and live comfortably. For me, this is an absolute disgrace and ultimately a shameful metaphor for the business in its treatment of staff and refusal to rectify the situation.

Pros

- Some seriously hard technical challenges due to the dilapidated state of most of the products, caused entirely by poor management, but will give you plenty to write into your CV for future jobs - There are some truly excellent people working in the company, but they are never at a management level where they can cause serious change in the 20 years outdated opinions of C suite - If you want to, and there are many employees like this, you can put your self in neutral and simply coast by doing the bare minium - If you are able to work yourself into a position where you are liked by management, you could probably work here forever, regardless of how good you are at your job - The business (as in its revenue), despite all the negatives of working there, is actually quite successful

Cons

- Terrible salary - Many product managers/business experts making decisions on technical products that they have 0 understanding of, resulting in every product being poorly managed - C suite is entirely blind to the reality of working at the company - Hybrid working policy that serves nobody, especially when half of your team will be in a different time zone entirely and every meeting will take place on teams. No office culture exists, or is attempted to be developed, office kit (monitors etc.) is shockingly bad. - A complete inability to hire new staff due to attempts to hire in lower salary areas, vital positions will sit vacant for 6+ months - Most teams are working on completely dead frameworks/languages, this will often provide terrible career progression - CEO seems to think that bots/fake people(?) are posting terrible reviews on Glassdoor, instead of simply that the company is poor and that he should do better

Thank you for your honest review both for highlighting the positive and negative as you experience it. We are truly sorry to hear about your challenges as we want everyone to enjoy and thrive working here which makes your feedback is invaluable. KCS is already working on improvements in the areas you mention. As a business we are committed to ensuring better alignment between teams, as well as making hybrid work more efficient. We are focused on creating an environment where both the company and its employees can thrive, and your (as with others) continued input will help guide us in those efforts.
