Pros

I feel lucky to have joined Jerry. From day one, the culture has been incredibly welcoming and the people are genuinely some of the kindest and most helpful I've ever worked with. There's a real sense of shared purpose here. The mission and leadership are inspiring, and you can feel everyone across the organization is working together towards the same goals. The work environment is unique. Even with defined teams, it feels fluid; if you have a great idea, you're empowered to jump in and run with it. You're encouraged to focus on problems that excite you and will provide value, which makes the work feel both meaningful and personal. We're very customer-centric, and it's rewarding to know we're solving a truly complex and interesting problem (you'd be shocked to learn how complex insurance is!) I also want to echo what others have said about the interview process. It's intense, yes, but it’s a brilliant way to showcase the passion of the team. The case studies gave me a great taste of the creative, engaging work that we do every day. And the talent team were all just a delight to work with it!! Shoutout to Alana and Gaga who felt like your biggest cheerleaders from day 1 of the process. Tl;dr - collaborative, inspiring, challenging (in a good way)

Cons

I haven't encountered many cons so far, but it's important to note that Jerry is a place for self-starters. There's a lot of autonomy and very little micromanagement. If you thrive on constant daily check-ins and hands-on guidance, this might not be the best fit for you. There isn't the biggest onboarding program like you'd see at a big firm, but that's startup life.

Thank you for the thoughtful review—glad the collaboration, shared purpose, and empowerment you describe are resonating! We appreciate your perspective on the interview process and will pass along kudos to Alana and Gaga. You’re right that our environment favors self-starters and high autonomy; calling that out helps candidates self-assess. If you have ideas to further strengthen the experience, please share them with the People Team at peopleteam@getjerry.com.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re grateful for the contributions you made during your time at Jerry, and we appreciate your feedback—especially from someone who spent several years with us. We’re glad to hear you valued the flexibility of remote work and found the role manageable. That said, we’re sorry to learn that your experience with cross-departmental communication and company culture didn’t meet expectations. As a fast-growing, distributed company, we know that maintaining strong internal connection and communication can be challenging—and it’s something we continue to actively work on. If you’re open to sharing more, we’d appreciate hearing your perspective directly at peopleteam@jerry.ai. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter.

Pros

Working as a Software Engineer at Jerry.ai honestly feels like being in a constant sprint with some of the sharpest minds I’ve met. The dev culture here is wild, people think fast, build fast, and expect results that actually matter. You’re given full ownership of your projects, from design to deployment, and it’s super satisfying seeing your code go live within days. The engineering problems are legit interesting too we’re talking large-scale optimization, performance tuning, and automation challenges that push you to think beyond just syntax. I really vibe with the “figure it out, ship it, and iterate” mindset. It’s high-energy, collaborative, and full of those late-night “wait, that actually worked?” moments.

Cons

If you’re someone who values crystal-clear direction and structured workflows like me, Jerry.ai might feel a bit overwhelming at times. The company’s still scaling, so processes can feel rough around the edges and sometimes documentation lags behind features, and it’s easy to get lost juggling multiple priorities. Communication across teams can get tricky too, especially when everyone’s moving a mile a minute. You learn to sync fast and over-communicate, but it takes a bit of adjusting. Also, because expectations are high, imposter syndrome can sneak in when you’re surrounded by brilliant people. But if you take it as motivation instead of pressure, you’ll grow faster than anywhere else.

Pros

- When you have a vision of testing some thing, as long as it's backed by data, you can just go and do it. Which means we can all be owners and do our part to grow Jerry. - Everything we do is data-driven with in-depth analysis, I've been learning a ton from every one - the shout out culture is awesome, you are encouraged when you achieve success - fairly flexible lifestyle and work life balance

Cons

- still expanding benefits and 401k but starting to be more competitive - predominantly remote so need to do extra for atmosphere

Thank you so much for sharing your experience—and for being part of building Jerry’s culture and momentum! We’re especially glad to hear that the data-driven, ownership mindset is resonating with you. Our goal has always been to empower team members to take initiative, test bold ideas, and grow alongside the company. And yes—the shout-out culture is one of our favorites too. Recognizing each other’s wins is part of what makes this a special place to work. We also really appreciate your constructive feedback. You're right: we’re actively evolving our benefits to better support our team, and we’ve made meaningful progress recently. As a predominantly remote company, creating a great atmosphere and sense of connection takes intention—and your point is a good reminder to keep pushing ourselves on that front. Thanks again for helping us shape what Jerry is and what it can become!

Pros

People here are some of the kindest and smartest I've ever met. No office politics, the culture is strong, and everyone is passionate about our goals. Leadership is also insanely talented and stacked. Bar for excellence is very high, which means each and every person meaningfully contributes to the team. You will not be picking up anybody's slack, but that's not to say your teammates will not be there for you when things aren't going great. They absolutely will. Mistakes are also not a career killer here. Most important thing is to learn from those mistakes and infer how to do the work better in the future.

Cons

You definitely will feel the pressure to not just do your job but to truly exceed. The mentality is very much "be a chef, not a cook," and that may not work for some people. If you're looking for a slow and steady job, Jerry's definitely not it. If you truly are passionate about your work and want to grow immensely, Jerry's the place.

Pros

- Jerry has a very strong data-driven culture: they've made a lot of investments in data engineering that make it easy to access clean data. Reporting and analyses are used and trusted by everyone and there’s a high level of data literacy across teams. - People are really collaborative, friendly, and genuinely invested in the company’s success. - The executive team is smart and highly engaged.

Cons

- Jerry has a very flat structure, which means a lot of interaction with leadership. I like this, but some people might not like it.

Thank you for celebrating our data-driven culture, collaborative teammates, and hands-on leadership—your enthusiasm fires us up! We intentionally keep our structure flat to spark swift decisions and open dialogue, though we know that level of access to senior leadership can feel intense for some. We’ll keep fine-tuning support so every team member can thrive, and we welcome any ideas you have along the way.
