Pros
- One of the best and most passionate/admired CEO you will ever have - Friendly atmosphere - Nice campus location in Carlsbad - Directly contributing to saving lives with the various drug development programs
Cons
- There is always bad seeds in any company that don't reflect the high standard of leadership that is projected by the CEO and others execs - A lot of hiring from other bigger pharmaceutical companies that slow down Ionis momentum and innovation approach to tackling big projects - In my case a dysfunctional team that is not well thought how to properly and effectively work in a team.

The company culture is fantastic and they seriously take care of their employees! Loads of paid time off (even for new hires) and retention incentives like bonus $ and additional vacation days for those staying at least 5 years. Beautiful campus, friendly team atmosphere, and overall quality employer
Cons
Some individual departments are less than ideal to work in, mostly due to a few bad hires that stick around forever (causing otherwise good employees to leave). But that being said, almost every big company I've worked for has that issue at some point... so not really a red flag, just bad luck if you happen to fall into one of those groups at the wrong time.
