Pros

If you aren't particularly intelligent, are lazy, and like to gossip, you will be in good company! I still don't think my boss has any idea what I actually did or ever tried to understand.

Cons

I have never been more disrespected in my entire life than I was when I worked here. One day, I was asking my boss about glaring errors that had been made the prior year and the next day I was being told not to come to meetings and not to have direct communication with anyone other than him. I was told that I was embarrassing myself by asking questions and not to worry about it. It turned out that I had been right about the errors. I continued to be picked on for the remainder of my time at the company for asking questions and suggesting improvements (aka trying to do my job). Many of my co-workers had encouraged me to write a letter to the head of the brand to tell her what was going on and how I was being mistreated. I honestly wish I had. Either way, working here convinced me to change fields entirely so that I don't run the risk of working in an environment like this ever again.

Pros

Intermix is a fun environment, with many great leaders to guide you on your career path. Cross training in different areas with in the store experience DOR training will get you on a fast track for advancement. Big exposure to multi brand vendors for both established and new designers. Definitely a place to build your network and client books. Exciting new product comes in weekly . A talented creative team keeps everyone inspired and the window styling is on point! Intermix and Gap Inc is an inclusive company. They embrace diversity, really care about their employees, and provide many support for personal needs. I have only good things to say about my tenure at Intermix.

Cons

Career growth from the field to HQ is not easy. So don’t expect to come into the store as a sales associate and become a buyer. Advancement can take time, be serious and patient. Those employees that put in the time and effort will see the benefits. Employee discount and designer exclusions could be better.
