Pros

Semi-flexible. Entrepreneurial. Design and build. Many exciting clients. Otherwise, this firm currently considers all people and professionals as expendable. They are brokers who outsource nearly all their work to other companies who will do it as quickly as possible. This is because IG has no true professionals who know what they're doing. As a result, all design and trade disciplines become very uncoordinated and the daily workload at IG becomes unmanageable for anyone who can problem solve.

Cons

CEO and managing partners are not professionals in the AEC industry, but are slimy, goofy, delusional salespeople. This company is focused on sales (getting a commitment from a client) and has little experience executing professional architectural, engineering and construction services that provide clients infrastructure through a coordinated project management effort. The sales team takes on work before understanding how to staff, manage or execute the work sold. The work is sold before any architect, engineer or construction professional provides input on the scope of the project and the efforts and resources it will take to deliver. The process at this firm is backwards. Good luck working under this team's management.

Pros

I've spent 10 years in corporate America and this is truly the best role I've ever had. The culture here is incredible, the team is made up of really intelligent architects, designers, project managers, marketers, sales professionals etc. What I love most is how interconnected the work is. Every team collaborates daily, and every project touches multiple departments, which makes the work feel meaningful and unified. Work life flexibility is genuinely supported, and wellness (both physical and mental) is a real priority. There’s an onsite gym available, and we’re encouraged to use it, with the time and space actually given to make it part of our day. Our VP even created a fun wellness room for people to go to do quick meditations, stretch or take personal calls as needed. Most important for me a as a mom, the understanding and flexibility around family life means everything to me. I feel valued as both an employee and a parent, and that balance makes all the difference. As someone who works in sales, the benefits are significantly greater than other sales environments I've worked in and the company has incredible health insurance benefits.

Cons

There is a lot to learn at first, which can be a bit overwhelming when you first start but you start to learn the terminology and pick up on the processes. You don't need to be a designer or architect to be able to work here!
