Pros

Professional growth Free health benefits Free gym membership Fully stocked kitchen

Cons

The work-life balance is unhealthy. Workers are often made to feel guilty for wishing for a life outside of work and leaving at an appropriate time. The guilt generally turns to anger and self-doubt, which contributes to a vicious cycle that creates workers who are unhappy personally and professionally. The work environment is hostile, stressful and unprofessional and instills in workers a sense of fear. Fear that they could lose their job at any moment, fear of facing ridicule and being talked about for being subpar, even if that is far from the truth. New management openly talks about the inadequacy of forming staff, mentioning them by name.   The general attitude is: You look at me wrong, I can and will fire you.   The politics at this company are outrageous, leaving workers with ultimately two choices: take an arrow in the back or sell your soul.

Pros

Opportunities to work with very smart hardworking individuals, salaries are average

Cons

Did you read the "pro" above and go "that's just what I've been looking for"? Well keep reading. The culture is competitive but not the "let's make each other better competitive", more like the Tonya Harding kind of competitive. I've witnessed an executive target and verbally abuse employees, so it's no surprise for a 60 person company to see 1-2 people leave a month. Combine that with the 2-3 people a month fired and you can imagine the turnover. If you're reading this thinking, "I'm different, I'm an achiever, I triumph over everything life throws at me" for the sake of everyone that loves you I'm begging you to consider triumphing over everything somewhere else. While the culture can make even the most competent people question themselves, the biggest toll is taken on spouses, family and friends. I met more than a couple of people who've had someone that loves them beg them to quit...even without another job. If you truly are great. You can be great somewhere else.
