Pros

INSIGHT2PROFIT is a small boutique management consulting firm that is focused on pricing optimization and effectiveness of its clients, largely in the B2B and B2C sectors. The tools, technology and strategy they engage with to support this work is innovative and provides real value to the clients bottom line, which results in tangible ROI and repeat engagements. - Benefits are decent, but does not compare with those larger firms - Rewards trip given annually to entire company is a nice perk - Has taken a recent interest in DE&I and is beginning to trickle some basic strategy to support initiatives into the wider organization, which is nice to see

Cons

INSIGHT2PROFIT is a growing organization, with majority of the business trajectory happening over the past 4 years or so (with a break for COVID in that time span). As with any company experiencing growth pains, there is the challenge of continuing to build upon current culture while also adding to the teams supporting the business at a rapid rate and this is where INSIGHT is really struggling. - There is little to no structure to support growth of junior team members. This is leading to a mass exodus of employees. - The hiring strategy of the organization is to focus on adding incoming college grads, but there is not enough capacity within the teams to support the development needs of these individuals - Managers are overworked and underpaid in comparison to competitor organizations. Teams are stretched to the max and offered little relief, and as a manager it is difficult to keep team members engaged. - Little being done with regards to current employee retention - Some of the leaders in the organization promote a toxic work environment, and hide behind the company value of "Candor". New leaders being brought in to run the teams are adding real value and positivity, but there is a power struggle that is more than apparent, taking place between the new and old guard. INSIGHT loves to revert to the saying of "we've always done it this way" instead of embracing new changes and opportunities to propel the organization forward. - Even though employees have been working at home and remaining productive the past year and a half consultants are being called back into the office in a mandatory hybrid model. With travel resuming and many companies moving to a remote workforce, there isn't a lot of incentive to stay. This is especially true in consulting where the hours are consistently high across the board, and work life balance is essentially non-existent. - We have a senior management team who is more concerned with playing politics than addressing any of the above named issues.

Pros

Small company and a lot of exposure to a lot of clients in different industries.

Cons

Felt pressure to do things I didn't like. Culture of selling vaporware and being dishonest to clients. Compensation promises do not come to fruition. No training whatsoever. Very negative environment.

Pros

The company offers work that is valuable for your career. You will learn a lot about different industries very quickly. The company does many positive things for its employees including providing sporting event tickets, community days, cookouts, etc. The company has a sense of corporate social responsibility. It has projects they work on that give back to the greater good in the world. Because turnover tends to be higher than industry work there is opportunity to move into the upper levels of the company fairly quick. The company seeks feedback from employees on organizational issues such as benefits, policy etc.

Cons

First and foremost, the company has had meetings to “encourage” employees to go on Glassdoor and write positive reviews. The owner/founder of the company consistently takes note of which employees attend out of work events such as community day, social events (Drinks), cookouts, etc. Many people tend to go to the after work events in fear of backlash from the company, this is the truth whether they like it or not. At times, the owner has reached out to employees to ask why they did not attend certain events. I found this to be inappropriate, strong-armed, and it tends to create a culture of fear. If you do not attend the events, you are frowned upon. The sales model for the company is defunct; the company tends to sell its software platform to private equity firms who mandate their portfolio companies to use the software. This creates sour relationships with clients at times who really do not have any inclination, desire, or use for the software platform, which can affect your life at the company. The platform, for lack of better terms, is being shoved down client’s throats The other posts about management, commute times, benefits, culture, and lack of training, are at times true. Management is hypocritical. It is expected you will work 8-6pm every day although at times, mid-level an upper management constantly come late and leave early (2pm) for drinks, sporting events, etc. This is uninspiring, demotivating, and poor leadership whether they fail to recognize it or not. There are times when the entire building is left with analyst and associates while managers/directors are out at entertainment events. Benefits are below industry average in all terms, vacation, health premiums, 401k. The bonus system is convoluted to say the least, and pits coworkers against each other rather than encouraging teamwork; one of the companies “core values”. Commute times are longer than expected unless you live on the immediate east side of Cleveland. Turnover is high. Because the company does not provide a long term training program (more than 4 months) new hires are expected to learn the business model an perform the job immediately. This expectation is fair for a industry job, not for a job in consulting. Depending on whom you work for, flexibility can vary. During the interview process they communicate working from home occasionally (less than 3 times a month) is acceptable. But in reality when you ask to work from they give you a very difficult time. There is no excuse for this behavior at all; it doesn’t cost them anything Overall, if you prefer a environment where coworkers are constantly at each other's throats, gossip, and actively plot against other divisions in their own company this is the place for you.

INSIGHT2PROFIT Response

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful input. I am sorry you had such a disagreeable experience as a member of our team and appreciate that you balanced your feedback with a few solid pros. Perspective is powerful and your perspective is your truth. Each person will see things differently, here is another perspective on a few of your points. • We do strive to provide high quality experiences to help team members advance quickly, not due to turnover, which is not above average. • We do take note of who participates in company sponsored off-hours events to help us gauge if such events are meaningful to our team and to better understand engagement. • We do have an aggressive on-the-job approach to training, I often hear from others how much they value interacting with clients early in their careers. • Our most recent engagement survey results strongly indicate that our team members value their teammates. They find the team to be cooperative, helpful, and accepting. • Often it is important for our project teams to work together, we do ask our team members to consider their project team and client needs when choosing to work remote more than to ask permission. Overall your feedback is helpful as we continue to work to make this an energizing workplace for all our team members. Please feel free to reach out to me, Regina Loiko if you would like to share more and again thank you for pausing to share.
