Pros

+ CO-WORKERS I’m In the Right is a small company with an all-male staff but one (at the CSR level). All staff at both ground operations and head office are extremely well mannered, hard-working professionals that have shown me nothing but respect as they patiently trained me. I personally worked alongside Jimmy at the Strathfield branch for the majority of my employment. Jimmy is an extremely hard working, straightforward down to earth professional that WILL take the time to consistently train you to a point in which you are confident to excel at your job. He WILL point out where/when you f*cked up and WILL make sure you improve. If any higher ups bother to read this, give Jimmy the bosses chair. That man is a King and deserves a raise. All other staff at ground operations are reliable, adaptable, and proactive team players. They all possess strong problem-solving skills and demonstrate a willingness to get the f*cking job DONE whenever needed. Every single one of them. I have not met a lazy CSR that does not possess these qualities, you could not ask for a better ground operations team. Pay them more captain. + POTENTIAL CAREER PROGRESSION (for full timers) If you are looking to work full time at I’m In The Right, there is the possibility to progress within the company and get out of ground operations. Since it is a small and relatively new company, they are looking to fill seats. Many previous full time CSR’s are now either in managerial roles or are working within the head office in Macquarie. + VEHICLES I’m not a Plummer nor is my dad a CFO from the Eastern Suburbs, therefore I will never be able to drive any Mercs, BMW’s or Teslas (potentially) for the rest of my life. It was very based to be able to drive luxury vehicles from I’m In the Right to customers’ homes (this will wear off within your first couple of weeks, don’t worry ;) ).

Cons

TLDR: low pay, short hours, isolating & repetitive work, lack of transferable skills - THE WORK ITSELF: • Clean car • Deliver car • Uber back to branch • Rinse & repeat If you’re an introvert and enjoy isolating and autonomous work for $26 an hour, this job is for you. It is a small company with low pay. You’re either cleaning or driving your entire shift, usually working with one or two co-workers (if you’re lucky). It’s by no means a stressful job, however it can become extremely frustrating due to circumstances outside the company’s control. Basically… When someone has a car accident, they obviously no longer have access to their vehicle until it is repaired. I’m In The Right acts as a service that will provide the customer with a “like-for-like” vehicle until the repairer is done with their original damaged vehicle. As such, your job is to clean the fleet of vehicles (inside and out) at the branch and make sure they are ready for you to drive these vehicles to the customer. Since there are only four locations and lack of staff in Sydney, you may be driving these vehicles two suburbs over or to the Blue Mountains, wherever the boss needs chief. All it takes is a co-worker pulling a sicky and your days f*cked as you are now responsible for their area as well as your own. Once the vehicle is at the customers home, they sign that they are now liable for this vehicle and you uber back to branch to do it all again. These delivery jobs come in at short notice so don’t count on finishing at your rostered time. If a job comes in 30mins before you clock out, you must deliver it, regardless of location as the customer might decide to go with a competitor or their own insurance company. That equals less money for the big man at head office. Just the nature of the business. Moreover, simply making sure vehicles are ready to go for your delivery can become a hassle. The majority of the time, most vehicles are either reserved for other jobs or are so parked in by other vehicles at the branch (that you must move yourself, find street parking for, then return in the exact same order) that it takes up to 20mins sometimes just to get to a vehicle cleaned and ready to do your job. This is a server time waster however is only a reality at either Artarmon or Smithfield branches due to the layout. - PAY: $26 base rate as a casual. Lowest paid entry-level casual job I have worked. Other casual positions (some sharing the street of the branch) are paying anywhere from $28 - $32. I’d recommend look around for other jobs with better compensation and longer, more desirable hours. Don't trade half your day for low pay. - HOURS: Six (if you're lucky seven) hour shifts at $26 an hour (- 30min break), not 9am-5pm rather 8am-1pm or 1pm-7pm. Saying that, your shift may be dragged into overtime when a later job comes through and you’re the only person rostered for the area. Could suit you, could not, up to you. But also, beggars can’t be choosers. - LOCATION: Based in Artarmon, Strathfield, Peakhurst, and Smithfield. There is a high chance you will not be based out of one location that is convenient to you. Instead you may be told to drive to and work wherever you are needed due to a lack of staff. You may be asked to drive to different branches mid-shift due to this lack of staff and not get compensated for fuel (not a giant issue by any means but something to think about if you’re budgeting). - LIABILITY: You're a glorified delivery boy for very expensive products. You deliver vehicles to customers. That means you will be driving these expensive vehicles (at a minimum three, at max seven or eight) every shift. That means you are 100% liable for any damage you may do to that vehicle. You are also 100% liable for any parking or speeding tickets that you may receive when you are doing your job delivering these vehicles. Not a whole lot of other minimum wage jobs have such high personal financial liability for the low pay. ~something to think about~
