      A well made facade with a terrible work environment

      - work on open source software - compensation

      Hugging Face had the worst work environment I've ever worked in. - the culture of the company is "blaming first, talk later". - there is no teamwork, and people are afraid to ask anything. - firm hierarchy, stronger than in a corporation - terrible communication - a disastrous management team, completely lack of respect and soft skills I had a feedback session and I was told they were very happy with my work. Two weeks later, out of nowhere, they fired me (not even in person) for no reason. I had to talk with a therapist to get over it. I cannot recommend working for this company to anyone.

      Pros

      If you like to be left alone this is the place for you. No one will ask you to do 1:1 or care what you do. Or even ask what you do. If you have a strong following on twitter or LinkedIn you are in .

      Cons

      They have no product to sell. All of their revenue is through partners who are desperate to attach their names to the brand. They have no product. The company sells services to large enterprises who might need help with their free downloaded model. It’s not a business model that will life up to its valuation. The cofounders do not communicate with their team, set goals, they just make outlandish predictions about the future with no real plan to get there.

      - Unlimited PTO - Nice co-workers (sometimes)

      Cons

      - I have never worked in such a directionless company before. No clear roadmap for anything!! - No meetings for anything, only once in a while which is so weird. - An extremely bad structural problem, really terrible to say the least. - Isolation while working - I got the worst line manager in the history of line managers. - Zero support - Extremely poor onboarding. It's a long list of cons, please avoid this company if you have plans to grow in your career!
