Pros

Great for hybrid working and work/life balance depending on the team and role. Nice people and new offices (Manchester awaiting new office).

Cons

Last minute secondments with responsibilities that may be above base role and pay band. Feedback rarely leads to any developments.

Pros

-Some very good people there, personality and capability wise. -You can gain a lot of experience. -Benefits are ok. -Flexible working is good, depending on your team and requirements.

Cons

-Leadership in some departments is lacking. Promoted above their capability, poor emotional intelligence. -Staff retention not a priority -Wilfully ignoring where problems lie while doing just enough to satisfy their conscience and light HR scrutiny. -Some processes like performance reviews are a tick box exercise. -Lack of career progression. -No accountability for some colleagues, others over worked. -Not always willing to remove under performers, creating team problems. -Bad luck if you're a good performer, your reward will be overwork. No guard rails, complaints will fall on dead ears. -Pay is below market rate, impacts hiring but not being honest with themselves about it. -Benefits aren't that much better than the competition, certainly not enough to make up for the pay. -Not what you know, it's who you know

A toxic environment where you feel unsupported.

Pros

The other people that work there in close teams and you can build good relationships

Cons

They only cared about winning awards, not the actual people, it is all about how they look externally and they think sending a survey out will make them look like they care. They implement only things that make it look good on the surface, but are never willing to actually listen to make bigger changes. HR are also not approachable and do not support employees in times of need. You felt unsupported, especially in the hardest of times and this can add to the pressure of a bad time. The company was better to work for before it started to try hard to be better to work for - which basically meant trying to be an award winning company to please the outside world. They lost all track of employee wellbeing and job satisfaction it became all about how they could make everyone think they are good at those things. I worked with some great people there, but if someone dares to have an opinion they where pushed to the side and eventually asked to leave. It was a ongoing trend over the years. Pay is also low in comparison to other companies and benefits are standard.

One to avoid for early careers.

Pros

People are nice in-person. Work/life balance is okay but they're not as flexible as their awards and ads suggest especially if seconded. Extracurricular/team events are good.

Cons

The firm suffers because of the lack of diversity and willingness to promote from within. There is large turnaround of people coming and going which seems to be the only thing keeping it going. The ones who have been there long band together and though nice in person they can and will hold you down by any means with any excuse. If you want an early career with opportunity I'd advise other places.
