Pros
I worked at Hero for three years, I was promoted twice, and given a raise three times. The reason I received these things... I worked hard and I pushed for growth. Hero is definitely a different type of environment and it takes some getting used to. It is not for everyone. The people, and I don't mean everyone, but the people who are there every day pushing the business forward are unmatched. I created lasting relationships with people that continue to this day, months after leaving. If you are the type of person who can push the BS aside and work, you can get through it and you can learn a lot. i.e. I came in as an assistant and in three years, established the skills to leave as a manager. Hero is not the place for weak willed, sensitive people.
Cons
As many have already stated... the owners are not great. They left the business for years and popped back in thinking it was being run the exact same way. This is not the case. They are out of touch at best. They change their minds often and create a general chaos within the team that makes the environment unpleasant. If they would leave the business to the actual team running it, the business would be much better off; however, ego keeps them around and they don't deserve the successes of a team that actually works hard.
