Difficult/demanding clients, lack of advancement or raise opportunities

Pros

Most of the people are pretty cool, although that seems to have changed a bit for the worse in recent years. Good work/life balance

Cons

Low pay, slim to zero bonuses, demanding clients with vanity book projects, workload shunted onto junior and mid-level staff, too many cooks in the kitchen on every project, some untrained managers, too much blatant emphasis on the bottom line

Fun, vibrant, fast-moving, energetic atmosphere; anti-corporate environment with no or very little red tape involved with management or decision-making processes; plenty of latitude in work hours / flexibility - focus is on doing your job well; excellent benefits, especially for a small company; overall, a great place to work

Cons

No organized tiers for internal mobility; it occurs, but is not structured and simply limited by size of the company.
