Pros

Really solid company with great software, talent, and most of all good people. Most negative reviews are from disgruntled traders, you'll see that at any firm that takes the time to groom their own. It's high risk, but this is a fine spot to try your hand and an even better place to practice as a technologist. What you won't see at every trading firm is a full staff of professionals who treat everyone with respect and care regardless of their subordination. Company structure is relatively flat with a small group of managers who do a good job keeping everyone together. You'll be working hard almost every minute in the office but it will be work that is needed and needed right now. Come here for a smaller team, a quicker pace and try to bring a little fun doing it.

Cons

Infinite supply of trader needs can lead to a prioritization schedule running against employee physical and mental well-being

Pros

Smart people Great place to learn everything if you want CEO is cool

Cons

This is a tech company but the Execs don't think so. CTO has micro-aggression issues where he would shame employees or hint at firing during a public meeting consistently. Those victims usually leave within 6 months. There is a pattern of high turnover since no one can stay in a good side for long.

Pros

-My manager was brilliant, helped me develop great logic, and we were in sync -I was excited by the strategies I built -Cool office -Use of KDB/Q

Cons

-My co-workers were not mathematically sophisticated. 4 traders coded. -Behind in technology, as far as I can tell. I could have been sheltered, not sure. -Underpaid relative to everything I've seen, in both base and bonus. -Didn't feel challenged, and <50% of relevant skill set was utilized. -Technically impaired IT/operations department. -Every member of "senior management" except my manager was lacking understanding of the trades being done. I am not sure how much this matters, but it was a red flag. -Someone leaving/laid off every month I was there. Perhaps this was a statistical anomaly.
