GenSpark Response
3yHi, sorry to hear about your experience! Let me try and address some of your concerns here:
-Re: being trained through YouTube videos, we do have training videos that our instructors have made; hundreds of them, actually! But what brings real value about our program are the real-time instructional sessions with our instructors, whom you can reach out to anytime during the day. They'll jump on a session with you to answer questions you have or to help you with areas you are stuck on. Since so much of comp programming involves searching for solutions and being resourceful to find answers, we feel like this is a good way for our students to 1) practice finding innovative solutions to the problems in our curriculum while 2) having an instructor right there to answer your questions so you don't get TOO stuck 😊
-Re: relocation, it's true that we do make sure potential candidates know upfront (before starting the program) that they should be open to relocation. We pay a portion of your relocation cost because we know it can be a financial burden (exact amount your recruiter will discuss with you).
-Re: the pay, when you are hired by a company, the pay obviously varies by the company or type of work you have, but we do ensure that it is within the standards of the industry! This also coincides with your commitment to work with GenSpark for at least 12-18 months (length varies by company you're placed with), after which you are free from your commitment! We see it as an investment you're making in yourself, so that your future can include higher pay and the kind of job you want. Hope that helps 👍
-Re: the issues of your interview getting mixed up, and poor communication, we will bring that up! Thank you. We are always trying to improve so that candidates can have the best experience. If you'd like, we'd be happy to discuss the particular concerns you had! Feel free to contact us! https://genspark.net/contact/
