      Terrible Anachronistic Culture

      Pros

      Slick city location, you might often get some freebies from events (champagne/canapes/expensive trips to Cannes or to watch sports etc) since the fee earners seem to need to spend £££ thousands dazzling their clients (and themselves).

      Cons

      No flexibility, terrible work life balance, pedantically formal, stuffy and old fashioned, CEO is rude, salaries in marketing aren't great and below market-average, lots of unnecessary admin - you may have signed up for marketing but may spend most the time processing invoices. Feudal hierarchical like culture. Fee earners are generally pompous, arrogant gits who think a lot of themselves and think they are above everyone else. Many are allowed to get away with anything they want because they are "Gateley royalty" and anyone in the Support section are just the peasants working beneath them.

      Not all it’s cracked up to be large firm stuck in middle sized ways

      Pros

      They offer a junior lawyer course and the training provided is really good. i learned a lot

      Cons

      lack of support if your face does not fit. Each man for himself. There were lots of people crying all the time from work pressure. Certain managers cannot be honest to your face

      Will make long time staff redundant just to reoffer their jobs at a lower salary

      Cons

      Will get rid of long time staff by making their jobs redundant, then will advertise for the same role with a different title at a lower salary. Constantly screws over staff members by holding them hostage with training contracts
