Pros

I really don't think the leadership is evil, I think they are ignorant, and ignorance is causing them to act evil.

Cons

If you were wondering why all the reviews for Futrend lately have been positive, where as the reviews a few months ago were mostly negative, allow me to enlighten you. Futrend recently put into place a policy that any employee posting any negative (honest) feedback about Futrend online would not only be fired, but would lose all benefits and would possibly be sued. They forced employees to sign this agreement under the threat of termination. You see, Futrend is a sinking ship, they are losing clients left and right, turnover is near 25% annually and management has no idea what they are doing. Instead of addressing the issues brought up in honest reviews, they decided to silence them with threats of force. It is absurd to think that in a free country a company thinks that censoring its employees is a good management practice. I for one will not be silenced.

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to write it. I am sorry to read that you feel this way, and would welcome the chance to discuss it with you in person. As we continue to move towards a professionally managed company, we are implementing infrastructure with more standard policies and procedures. We recently replaced a 10-year old agreement to ensure FUTREND can fulfill our contractual obligations to the government, especially regarding intellectual property. We hired and consulted with law firms that specialize in employment and intellectual property law. The agreement language is very standard and very fair among all government contractors (large, medium or small) for work performed within the scope of employment. FUTREND graduated out of the 8(a) program in 2015. As with any of the 1600+ graduated 8(a) companies, it is critical for us to continue to bring in new business outside of the 8(a) program. We continue to expand our work with new customers and within existing customers. Under today’s environment of severe budget cuts, it is very important for us to work together to continue to provide the top quality services to our customers. I have been working with less than a handful of individuals who have questions regarding the agreement. Pros

Decent benefits and perks but the mandatory meetings on Columbus and MLK days seem unproductive just unnecessary. Leadership just wants to hear themselves talk in front of employees and give themselves a pat on the back at how wonderful they are. Whoopee!

Cons

Horrible micromanagement from the very top. CEO takes pride in meddling with PMs and employees. Pathetic culture. Only reason why I stayed as long as I did was I really enjoyed the client we supported.

Thank you for taking the time to write this candid feedback. Regarding the all-hands meetings, we will continue to solicit topics from employees and managers, improve our meetings’ content and logistics to make them more productive and valuable to employees. Our two annual all-hands meeting on Columbus Day and Martin Luther King Day are important to communicate and connect with everyone. In addition, it is an opportunity to gain valuable training and insights via professional speakers. Our employees meet and network with others, learn about company’s new initiatives, and attend mandatory training required by the law/regulation as a government contractor. Please know that I take a review such as this very seriously, and I appreciate your perspective regarding my management style. As a company and on a personal level, the last few years have been challenging. I certainly recognize that our employees can deliver successfully, but I also recognize that our customers have come to appreciate and often expect the involvement of and access to FUTREND ownership. We’ve worked hard to build the company, and an entrepreneurial structure, which includes involvement in all aspects of operations, has been critical to that success to date. While it is not the right environment for everyone, I believe it has helped get us to where we are today. However, I recognize that as we evolve to a professionally managed company, our management practices must evolve as well. As we make this transition, we are implementing standardized repeatable processes, and best practices in project/program management. We have hired good managers on the delivery teams and continue to hire senior managers to build a strong leadership team. We have identified the core competencies for our project/program managers, and are working to improve our training and mentoring programs. Please be assured that that I am dedicated to successfully finding the right balance between a hands-on approach and a less involved one. I am working hard to put a strong management team into place so that I can focus on more strategic concerns in the future. Thank you again for your feedback. I wish you the best in your career.

Revolving door, morale is terrible!

Pros

If you're working directly for a client, Futrend is an ok place to work. As long as you are changing to an account, they'll pretty much leave you alone.

Cons

The CEO and President are a husband wife duo. Beware!! Expect to be micromanaged and to be treated like a number during the industrial revolution. You'll be expected to "clock in and out". The President wears the pants in the relationship, she rules with an iron fist. She lacks empathy, professionalism and truly should not be interacting with the client. A narcissist through and through. If you're a "yes ma'am", Futrend is for you. If you have ideas and or opinions that do not align with hers, you'll be on the chopping block. As a result of her dictatorship tactics everyone is paranoid and fearful. Turnover is incredibly high, there is a constant "changing of the guards" which makes it very difficult to have any long term structure. Family/Work life balance is terrible. Long hours are very common and will consume you. Casual Friday is non existent, the CEO allowed jeans on Fridays for the Rockville office, the President found out about the change, undermined his authority and changed the policy. The list can go on and on, you get the point, STAY AWAY!!

Thank you for your candid feedback. I take feedback such as yours very seriously. With FUTREND’s graduation from the 8(a) program, we’ve had a lot of changes in a short amount of time. We’ve hired new management, and had to implement processes and policies that we didn’t have or need before. Our progress has not been perfect or without missteps, but we have been working diligently to hire managers with the required experience and skills to lead the company through this transition, and who fit our corporate culture. Regarding your specific feedback on my management style, I am sorry if I’ve led any employees to feel undervalued. I recognize that it is our employees who have consistently delivered excellent services to our customers, and built our good reputation. I have always publicly recognized and rewarded employees for their dedication and contribution. I recognize that despite this, some negative perceptions exist among employees. To that end, I have been taking steps to adopt best practices for leadership, communication, and management. Thanks again for your feedback. I wish you the best in your career.
