Always have my paid check wrong as they do payslip manually and I had to double check salary myself. I left the company and they still owe me some salary unpaid and ignored me when I tried to trace them down. Terrible management and lots of micromanagement and unprofessional managers. They tricked us to work super hard to achieve sales target with guarantee of bonus, and it turned out to be a 15 pounds "bonus". Rude senior staff who talk to employee disrespectfully with lots of insane requirements.

The manager made everyone's lives miserable and actively sought out ways to ruin the store atmosphere, employee turnover was very high because of this

Managers have favourites and make that very known. Sales targets are unrealistic as is, but this heightened by other staff stealing commission. Happened all the time

the manager was racist and making up lies about things just to appear suprior.

Unfortunately, my experience at French Connection was overwhelmingly negative. The work environment is highly toxic, and there is no real support system in place for employees. Managers are unprofessional and frequently throw tantrums when things don’t go their way, creating unnecessary stress for the team. The lack of HR support makes the situation even worse, leaving employees feeling abandoned when issues arise. A culture of backstabbing and gossip is prevalent, which fosters distrust among colleagues. Racist behavior is excused under the guise of “bad jokes,” which is deeply troubling. Redundancies seem to occur arbitrarily, with employees being let go without clear reasons once they are no longer in favor with the CEO. The company also suffers from extreme micromanagement, which stifles creativity and autonomy. Overall, I would not recommend French Connection to anyone seeking a healthy, supportive work environment.
