Pros

Fluid hired amazing people! I worked with some wonderful people, and I learned a lot from them while I was there. Everyone cares a lot about their work and producing great work. I grew a lot while I was there and learned many new things about advertising.

Cons

The main problem with Fluid stems from the treatment of employees. The employees are often expected to work long hours and produce great work, but aren't paid anywhere near their market value. Also, many employees were treated poorly by their coworkers. I saw countless examples of mistreatment, including blatant racist remarks, sexist comments, and just plain hostility. While most employees were great, there were some who made work miserable for everyone else.

Pros

I made some very good friends at Fluid and learned a lot. There are times where the management can be compassionate and helpful in your career.

Cons

When brought on as a new employee to Fluid you see a company focused on culture, work life balance, and a "passion for growth". This is what Fluid aspires to be, but it has a long way to go. This is a highly patriarchal environment that does not promote diversity. The staff may be diverse however it does not translate into the company culture. Unconscious bias relating to race and gender is the biggest problem I saw during my time at Fluid. When problems were brought to upper management they were ignored or "changes" would be made, that did not fix the problem or prevent it from happening again. The hardest working employees are not valued, and the gregarious problem causing employees are held with kid gloves. Overall, it is a toxic environment from a social standpoint. Employees are paid well under the industry standard, likely due to #1 poor business practices that affect revenue #2 salaries based on race and gender. This is not an EOE. PTO/Sick time/ Paternity leave is extremely lacking. Employees are under a scrutinizing eye when they come in and leave, leading to resentment and demotivation. Turnover is very high due to all of these reasons.

Pros

"Vintage Building" and that is putting it nicely. They have incredible designers and Ryan Anderson is incredible to work with.

Cons

You won't grow there. You will be unfulfilled. Fluid is cheap and no one feels that more than its employees. Profits never go in employees pockets. You can express your dissatisfaction to management who will act like they care and then do nothing about it. They burn through interns. Employees aren't appreciated for their work. If you need something to be successful at your job, expect to pay for it by yourself.
