Unpredictable scheduling: No shift end times, employees don't receive their weekly schedule until one day before it begins, the company schedules an exorbitant amount of folks to work FOH to make up for lack of BOH folks- FOH folks sometimes arrive to find out their BOH (and don't expect to be tipped out or acknowledged for doing work you didn't sign up for).
Perks barely exist: 25% off food as a patron, 50% off shift meals within 30 minutes of the beginning or ending of your shift but not between 10a-2p or 5p-9p (or when managers deem it inappropriate to order), free movies between Monday and Friday only with manager permission. This is about half of the perks you receive working for the larger, local competition.
Low wages: FOH starts at $9/hr. Management starts at $12/hr. Cashiers at HEB start at $13/hr.
The online training system is about 6 months behind in company information- just ask your trainer how you can skip through it all by employing a technical glitch in the software.
No one is getting breaks in this environment, and if you mention that to management expect to have a pis_ing contest about who is having a more terrible experience while at work.
