An employer that only rewards senior management
Pros
This company is one of the largest employers in New Zealand and have managed to survived the pandemic even after a few years of being in the red due to construction division losses.
Cons
To survive the pandemic, they reduced spending and this included no pay increase in 2020 and removing bonuses for all employees. A year later, they reinstated bonuses but only for their senior management team. This is not common knowledge in the business. They have also brought back annual increases for employees who are performing well but with a measly 3% of their annual salary. Since then, even if only senior management are getting bonuses, they are spending significantly more on bonuses of management than pay increase of staff. For example, 80 million goes to bonuses while only 40 million for pay increase. That 40 million also includes pay raise for said management. This is a sad but great example of inequity in this business. Culture has gone worse. Attrition has increased from around 10% to 30% . Just look at the amount of jobs they are advertising, they lose hundreds of employees every month.
