Benefits including paid time off, medical, short and long term disability and life insurance were cancelled / withdrawn with no notice from Owners and Management. I found out my insurance was cancelled by receiving a letter more than a month after the effective date of the termination of insurance, which prevented me from even being able to continue the coverage on my own. No apology or remedies, just excuses, like "making these cuts meant you could stay employed", which felt threatening. This while actively applying for the government-offered pandemic payroll protection loans and being awarded those funds. Being awarded those funds meant the Owners/Management did not need to continue to make staff feel scared that they would be losing their jobs, yet that message continued for months.
When I inquired about insurance being cancelled, the message from Owner/Manager was that the payroll processing company (ADP) handled those benefits and since that contract was terminated and another payroll processing system was being used (also ADP, but a different version of it), implying that it was ADP that cancelled the insurance, and not owning up to the Owners making that conscious decision to terminate employee benefits. When I inquired about paid time off being cancelled, I was told that it was due to the company switching to non-profit status. The company is not a non-profit.
Owners and Management did not pay employees on scheduled pay dates multiple times during my employment causing late paychecks with no apologies or remedies.
Owners and Management referred to the pandemic as a joke and did not take concerns of staff or incoming patients seriously. They state they use sanitary practices keeping surfaces continuously wiped down when they do not, and that they use social distance guidance and they do not.
Owners and Management told my private health information about covid test results to coworkers without my permission when they should make the identity of the person confidential.
Owners and Management refused to allow staff that could work from home to continue working from home even while stay home orders were in effect by state government, after we had successfully worked from home for two months. When I made my concerns known, they insisted I return and work at the office and said they would discuss working from home soon after. They did not consider the concerns of staff any more, even though the Governor's order was to allow work from home to the best ability of employers.
