Pros

Part of the Dentsu group meaning we get better access to certain things. Near to shoreditch high street station. Interesting places nearby for lunch.

Cons

Low pay, conflicting statements from management, people allowed to run round doing whatever they want with no recompense, an attitude that putting money towards drinks every once in a while fixes the awfulness of the actual job. It doesn't. Incompetent new hires. All talk, no action.

The actual worst.

Pros

Free snacks, booze, and happy hours. Inflated titles if you’re in the right department. Easy promotions if you’re good at office politics. Probably a fun experience if it’s your first job out of college and you miss the dorm. A solid understanding of basic mobile media.

Cons

Terrible leadership who gives great lip service but takes zero responsibility, inexperienced managers, total lack of client management skills, and heavily siloed teams. Take the positive Glassdoor reviews with a grain of salt because while it is true you can gain certain experience and have fun with friends here, free beer and granola bars are no replacement for good opportunities, mentorship, and quality digital advertising. If you just need a job this place will probably suit you. But if you want transferable skills and good connections in digital keep waiting tables til you can get hired someplace reputable. Otherwise be prepared to break bad habits and learn all new everything at your next job because this place has no idea how it’s done.

Massively Going Downhill...

Pros

1) Fun Company Culture 2) Great "techy" perks: snacks, catered meals, beer fridge and an annual company trip. 3) Great place to learn if you are Entry Level as you get to do a lot more than you would at bigger shops. 4) James, CEO, is very energetic, motivating and seems to really get managing people on a personal level. Wish he was based in the US full time.

Cons

Unfortunately, the Cons massively outweigh the Pros now :( I loved Fetch to begin with! I thought it was something I could really sink my teeth into, however, I quickly realized some massive issues: 1) Terrible Hiring and Firing practices (or lack there of): Management has made some awful hiring & promoting choices for Mid-Level management and HR. Also, there is no backbone when it comes to letting go of employees with zero added-value. The pettiness, cliques and political games are the highest I've seen anywhere. They appear to be more concerned about not looking bad than mentoring and motivating their teams - Better not correct them on any error or they will take it personally and throw you under the bus behind your back (I saw it time and time again). Lastly, 2) Management has very little ideas on how to motivate: Management appears to think that simply supplying employees with a fridge full of beer and whiskey will attract and retain good talent. There is very little thought about motivating and teaching employees. Promotions/Raises are only given if you demand it, which usually happens when people are fed up and about to leave. The most frustrating habit is that there is a consistent pattern of hand holding & rewarding terrible employees in hopes they will do better, while ignoring their Star employees. 3) HR is the worst I've ever seen The HR in the US is the worst I've ever seen. Extremely unprofessional, massive attitude, has problems with almost every manager in the office and unbelievably deceitful to the people she is supposed to help. 4) Very Low Pay: Most employees past Entry Level could get a job in a week for 20%-40% more than what Fetch pays. 5) Mass Exodus/Culture Deteriorated: Lots of people leaving, mostly because of the four reasons listed above. The culture that was there when I first started is almost completely gone. I know these Cons seems pretty bad, however, overall the experience at Fetch was a good one. The issues listed above simply got to be too much make it worth staying.

Fetch Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Naturally we are disappointed and concerned to receive this feedback. The welfare and morale of our people has and is always a personal and companywide priority at Fetch. I have to acknowledge that your general feedback is quite inconsistent with the feedback we receive from both current and previous employees at Fetch. 2016 has been a particularly strong year at Fetch, both in terms of business performance and talent engagement scores. We are actually growing at a faster rate than previous years, bringing more excellent talent into the business and our staff turnover is well below industry average. We have had more promotions and career progression in 2016 than any other year at Fetch. I would be very open to discuss this further should you wish. Regards, James Connelly CEO
