Pros

Salaries are not terribly bad(?)

Cons

No career progression whatsoever. They will even make up positions which don't exist anywhere else in the market because there are no processes nor plannings for up-growing your skillset. This is even more dramatic when you discover that most of their clients are based on a dead and buried JS framework (Marionette and Backbone) which isn't mentioned during the interviews. However they mention React as their preferred choice when the new skeleton they've created is a complete mess where React is not applied as per standards and tests suits are failing (keep in mind this is greenfield development). Management is expecting you to give the very last drop of blood and sweat to meet deadlines which are not realistic in any version of the multiverse (even working 24/7 including BH and weekends) This gets very annoying when we get to the point of being constantly blamed as developers for not accepting tickets without assessments nor Acceptance Criteria. Some times (no joke) they will ask you to action something you already say it's not feasible and they will blame you when the explained caveat comes up. Every single standard/process in place to make the correct development of the features have been removed for the sake of delivering. Delivering is FSB management favourite word even though there are no standards at all to control the quality of what is delivered creating a rabbit hole of production issues that blow up on any developer who is working out of hours for application support.

Pros

I... honestly can't think of one. Maybe the fact you could problably take a holiday, and just tell people you're working, and no would notice? It's genuinely hard to think of something that FSB does right.

Cons

-Tickets aren't properly spec'd -Developers are expected to know a huge variety of business knowledge -PM/PO roles exist, but serve no function -Codebase is legacy, and just a bug ridden pile of crap, sonarlint reports over 38k issues -Build pipeline is effectively none existant, PR's do not run prior to merge so build is constantly broken -No deployment pipeline, if a patch is required a senior developer will rebuild the product, and then apply a class level patch of .class files on production -Recently moved to agile, provided no agile training, no team is doing agile -No training budget -Some developers were being assigned weekend work after specifically stating they would not work weekends, but this was only one JS based team

FSB Technology Response

Dear Reviewer, We invite all employees to an exit interview prior to them leaving to give them an opportunity to feedback so we can learn about the employee's experience at FSB Technology. I'm sorry to read about your comments, as much of the comments have come as a surprise. FSB is growing significantly, and transitioning from a start up company to one that is now scaling up. As part of such journey there are always challenges, and whilst we acknowledge we can continuously improve our internal processes and ways of working, we wouldn't be in a position to grow as successfully as we are, if things were as literally described in the review. An integral part of our success is not only our product, but the people in the company, whom we are making significant investment in. We will certainly take on the board the comments, and where applicable, look to improve the employee experience.

Pros

Good use of technology and a few good people worked with

Cons

terrible, I would avoid it if you can. Nothing but stress and a lot of bad decisions being made, work hard and get paid more (NOPE) - more like work harder and get thrown in the line of fire... no thanks AVOID and HR are hopeless don't even think about going to help for help.
