I’d been in the security industry for 8 years before I came to Evolution and I was starting to think security wasn’t for me. 5 years later I’ve realised it wasn’t the industry that was putting me off, but the company I was working for. At that company I was just a number on a chart, a cog in a machine. Here at Evolution however, I’ve learnt the meaning of job satisfaction and how it feels to be appreciated for what you do. There’s a fantastic culture at Evolution, where everyone is willing to chip in and help complete a task, as at the end of the day we all want what’s best for each other and the business. There’s plenty of room for progression here too and you can see that in our Senior Leadership team, some of which have worked themselves up from an Engineer or Project Manager, to Group Directors. When I first joined I was very used to working in the “blame” culture of my previous company but quickly learned how different it was at Evolution. There’s a deep rooted culture of support where people are encouraged to learn from mistakes without being penalised for them. Overall it’s a brilliant place to work that supports all its staff with a fantastic working environment.

Wow, what can I say? Walking through the door 11 years ago, I knew I’d made the right decision. Evolution always had a family feel, and as an engineer, I could still pop past the co-founders office for a chat. Both were always approachable and made time for me. During a tough time in my life, in 2019, I lost my nan in June and then my dad was given a terminal diagnosis in August. Throughout his final months, Evolution supported me with time off to spend with him and create lasting memories before he passed away in November. I can never thank them enough for the time they gave me with my dad. As the business has grown from the founders to the new directors, the family and approachable atmosphere remains. I’ve watched both group managing directors progress into their roles and they’re well-deserved. Their hard work and dedication are inspiring and a true success story, demonstrating that dedication and hard work can propel you from an engineer to a managing director. The new office is exactly what the business needs as it continues to grow and expand. It’s spacious, airy and equipped with a coffee machine for the staff on the go, a snacks table and a fridge stocked with soft drinks.
