Would not recommend working in head office to my worst enemy.

Pros

- Some decent people still left across the teams, but anyone talented, sensible and decent has either left or wants to leave - Office building is visually nice, but teams are being squeezed into less space over time, basic provisions (tea/coffee/bathroom supplies etc) are minimal, the building is gradually falling apart (months with no air conditioning in the peak of summer heatwaves) - and any of the historic 'pros' of being in the building have been phased out (no more free 1 x weekly lunch, mandatory office days being increased..)

Cons

Where to start? - Incredibly toxic culture across the entire company from top to bottom. This impacts teams every single day. There is a very real culture of fault, blame, bullying and toxic hierarchy across the organsation. - Strategic decisions are changed at the drop of a hat, which filters down to teams and leads to discontent, low morale, confusion and no clear strategy or ways of working - HR are toothless and follow the commands of senior leadership only - they have no regard for employees, or employee wellbeing, despite the company's PR pushed 'family values'. Multiple instances of clear bullying and lack of support for staff which HR have ignored and/or weaponised against employees on the direction of management - Poorly managed restructure processes to lay off significant numbers of staff have led to very thin teams, working incredibly hard, for very average salaries - covering multiple jobs and being given multiple brands to cover, with little or remuneration (and being told they are lucky to have a job still) - Very high staff turnover rates as a result of the culture and management, with vacant senior roles being given more junior titles, in order to keep pay low across the board (thus attracting less talent and leading to retention issues) - Cliquey culture, where if you are on the 'inside' you can make the job just about bearable, but often at the expense of your own progress and sanity - Terrible benefits - nothing attractive benefits wise at all.. Working from home days being cut, pay stagnated, pay rises not even in line with inflation/cost of living, insignificant bonuses calculated in an increasingly complicated way in order to push bonus values down and confuse staff, average maternity pay, product discount below competitor companies - Expected to regularly take on exponential amounts of additional work for no extra compensation and be thankful for it.. - Increasing lack of meaningful ID&E initiatives, and purposefully reducing funding for ID&E initiatives and campaigns across brands to save money, whilst senior leadership are on international 5* global 'off site' trips and expensing business class flights and 5 star hotels - Laying off staff and/or not replacing departing staff in order to make the bottom line look better for business purposes, but it is not sustainable - Insanely toxic, bullying culture across the entire company from the top down
