Pros
They recently raised their article rates to $50/500 words, which is still terrible, but better than it used to be. Many freelance sites pay worse.
Cons
I'm supposedly one of their better writers -- my ratings are all in the highest quintile and they've called on me to write several higher-paid special assignment articles. But the senior copy editors, with one or two exceptions, are bullies and I've been warned twice about complaining -- that one more complaint and I'm gone. You're a contract writer and your opinion is not respected. It's basically boot camp--shut up and do what you're told. Sometimes what you're told to write is ridiculously misinformed. And some of the copy editors are bitter refugees from what used to be print journalism, feel that they're slumming and just love to give you a rewrite request that would take 2,000 words to fulfill (and if you go over 600 they'll reject it for being too long.
