Pros
Scoutbee turned out to be my dream company. People are really talented, friendly and open to collaboration. There are a lot of great minds (including the top level management) you can gain access to once you join. As it’s often the case with startups, joining Scoutbee there was no spoon feeding or hand holding to teach you every minute thing and show you every corner of it. Which means it is a great place to learn by doing. Once you're geared up and ready, it's fast paced. Most of all, there's a lot of exciting self learning, catching up with tech, understanding what has been done for whom, trying out things on your own. These are the things which may require your self time investment depending on your own initiative. There's a gold mine of knowledge, tech and procurement people here but you will need to prepare both hands, and invest time to dig yourself through it. Once you get them, you'll be enjoying the labor. Time management is definitely an important key working here. There are many exciting things to do and parallel activities going on. The company culture is amazing and the team really is the best you can ever dream of. Innovative, fast-pacing, always trying to be ahead of times. Just have to wrap your head around what you really want to achieve whilst working in your dream company, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to do many different things.
Cons
Like many other people in the team, during my time at Scoutbee, I cherished personal values over titles, and the company has always been very welcoming towards me adopting a flexible, adventurous career approach. I’m very grateful. Having said that, whereas I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to career progression, with individuals having the freedom to explore different paths and opportunities, be sure to make your case very clear with your direct management from day 1, as things can easily get lost in the busy day-to-day life. Successful career planning involves finding a balance between ambition, meaningful work, and personal growth. It also involves sharing these with your manager from day 1 so that you can align your values and goals with the company’s, so that everyone wins.
